Spring (April to June)
Snow melts and the waterfalls are at their fullest. Trümmelbach Falls open around April. Higher trails may still be snowed in.
Summer (July to August)
The most popular time. Trails are open, days are long and the cable car runs frequently. Expect crowds and book rooms early. Higher up it is still cool.
Autumn (September to October)
Often clear and calm, with fewer visitors. In some years there is a traditional cow parade down the valley. Some attractions begin to close for the season.
Winter (December to March)
Snow transforms the valley. Mürren has skiing and winter walking. The cliffs shade parts of the valley floor, so the sun comes late. Check road and lift conditions.
Whatever the season, check the Schilthorn webcam on the morning. Valley weather and summit weather are often very different.
